Join us as Birth Network of Santa Cruz County begins with, Special Deliveries: Celebrity Mothers Talk Straight on Birth. Ricki Lake interviews Celebs about their births. These women share about their partners, their doulas, and the care they received during their labor and birth. We see the decision-making processes (often stemming from a first birth experience) and the outcomes. Courage and determination run through the film with a mix of humor and tears. Women everywhere will find support for their choices, and those attending the showing will have an opportunity to talk about our community's birth options. Meet the Doulas is a great opportunity to learn about birth and postpartum doulas. Join us at this free event for an informative afternoon. This event is open to everyone- no matter where they plan to birth - home or hospital, in Santa Cruz, Watsonville, Monterey, or San Jose area. Schedule: * 4:00-5:00pm Panel presentation about Birth Doulas and Postpartum Doulas * 5:00-6:00pm Doula "speed dating"- an opportunity for you to hold a mini-interview with a number of Doulas.
